For practice owners & growing groups

Buying a practice? Know what comes with it.

Ludara can connect you with clients whose practices we’ve helped build, as well as research other potential matches. We help you understand the people, systems and day-to-day work that come with a practice.

Introductions start with a good fit and an owner who is open to the conversation.

01 / THE WORKPractical help, from start to handover

Find the fit. Understand the day-to-day.

A practice can look promising on paper. We help you ask the questions that show what it would take to run it.

01

Meet practices we’ve helped build.

We work with owners on the foundations of their practices. Tell us what you’re looking for, and we can explore a match with a client who is considering their next step. We can also research practices beyond our existing relationships.

02

Understand how the practice runs.

Look at the team, EHR, intake, scheduling and the work that depends on the current owner. Get a clearer view of what works and what needs attention.

03

Prepare for the handover.

Plan who will do what, which systems need work and how the team will get support. Ludara can help put those changes in place, too.

You don’t have to tackle everything at once. We’ll agree on the work that makes sense for where you are.

02 / Questions worth answering

Get to know the practice behind the purchase.

What would make a practice a good fit?

Define the kind of established business you want to buy, how it fits your existing work and what you’re prepared to take on.

Where does the owner hold it together?

The person handling every staff question or system problem may be the person leaving. Understand that work before planning the handover.

What does the team need on day one?

Clear responsibilities, working systems and someone to turn to. Build the transition around the people who will keep the practice running.

How we work together

Who keeps the practice running—and what changes when the owner leaves?

  1. Tell us what you’re looking for.

Share your plans, your timing and any practice you already have in mind.

  2. Look closely at the business.

We explore client introductions, research additional matches or review a practice you have identified, depending on where you are.

  3. Work through the transition.

Turn what we learn into practical next steps for the people, workflows and systems.

03 / IN PRACTICEA practical example

The work, made concrete

Here’s what that can look like.

Start with one recurring problem or one unanswered question. Then do something useful with what you learn.

The starting question

Could a Ludara client be a fit?

Start with what you want to acquire and what an owner wants for the practice they have built.

What we look at
  • What the practice does and where it operates
  • How your plans fit the owner’s goals
  • Whether the owner wants an introduction and what they are ready to share
The useful next step

A conversation with a shared purpose.

Where there is a potential fit and both sides want to explore it, we help make the introduction. We can also agree on a wider search when your criteria call for it.

The starting point will depend on your practice and what you need help with.

Before we talk

A few useful answers.

A little more about the work before you reach out.

Thinking about selling your practice?Support for investment firms
Can you introduce us to your own clients?

Yes. Ludara has existing practice clients we have helped build and strengthen through our operations work. When a client wants to explore a sale or investment and there is a potential fit, we can help make an introduction. We agree with the client on what can be shared before sharing it.

Can Ludara help us find acquisition targets?

Yes. We can help connect you with Ludara clients whose practices we’ve helped build, and research other potential matches. We first confirm that the client is interested in a conversation and that your plans could fit.

What if we’ve already found a practice?

We can start there. With the owner’s permission to review the business, we can help you understand its operations and plan for the handover. Read what to review before buying a therapy practice for questions about the people, systems and work you may be taking on.

Who do you work with?

Investment firms, family offices, larger practice groups and other buyers looking for established mental health practices. Tell us what you want to acquire and where you are in the process.

Does this replace our transaction advisors?

No. Ludara helps with client introductions, target research and practice operations. Brokerage, valuation, transaction negotiation, financial or legal due diligence and investment advice remain with your qualified advisors.

Can you help after the acquisition?

Yes. Ludara’s ongoing operations work includes workflows, documentation, EHR, technology and team handover. We can discuss what support you’ll need as ownership changes.

What happens after we reach out?

We’ll review your plans and follow up to discuss where we can help. We agree on the work and fees before you decide to move ahead.

Let’s talk about what’s next

What kind of practice are you looking for?
